Oral Hygiene

Oral Hygiene is part of our ethos of preventative care. That's why we have two hygienist, Hannah and Mika who will take great care in maintaining your teeth and gums. Good oral hygiene helps prevent gum disease, tooth decay, tooth discolouring and halitosis.

Both Mika and Hannah will carefully clean around the gums and teeth and remove any build up of dental plaque and calculus (calcified plaque). They can tailor a cleaning regime to suit you and your mouth and will demonstrate the various ways to best maintain your teech and gums.

Gum disease is very much a genetic disease and can often go unnoticed. The severity of gum disease can vary between individuals and in late stages the teeth can loose support and become mobile. Gum disease causes more tooth loss than tooth decay and if left untreated has been linked to other conditions such as heart diesase. By preventing the build up of dental plaque it’s onset and progression can be prevented.

As part of your routine dental exam, we look around each tooth to check for signs of gums disease. We can advise you how best to maintain your teeth and gums and whether any additional measures are needed, such as special toothpaste or a fluoride mouthwash.

We have a dental shop for which we have sourced dental products we believe in, and have price matched these where possible.
