Oral Hygiene is part of our ethos of preventative care.
We have four dental hygienists Hannah, Mika, Erin and Kim.  They take great care in maintaining your teeth and gums. Good oral hygiene helps prevent gum disease, tooth decay, tooth discolouring and halitosis.

Oral Health & Hygiene

Mika, Erin, Hannah or Kim will carefully clean around the gums and teeth and remove any build up of dental plaque and calculus (calcified plaque). They can tailor a cleaning regime to suit you and your mouth and will demonstrate the various ways to best maintain your teeth and gums.

Gum disease is very much a genetic disease and can often go unnoticed. The severity of gum disease can vary between individuals and in late stages the teeth can lose support and become mobile. Gum disease causes more tooth loss than tooth decay and if left untreated has been linked to other conditions such as heart disease. By preventing the build up of dental plaque the onset and progression of gum disease can be prevented.

As part of your routine dental exam, we look around each tooth to check for signs of gums disease. We advise how best to maintain your teeth and gums, and if any additional measures are needed, such as special toothpaste or a fluoride mouthwash. We have a dental shop for which we have sourced dental products we believe in, and have price matched these where possible.

Prevention is at the very heart of our care. This why we have 4 hygienists to provide the highest standards of prevention throughout the week.
